The black tulips (tulipa cypria) are out as well as the Cyprus bee orchid (the only unique wild orchid to Cyprus). Book for an orchid and wild flower walk this Thursday 11th March and you will see both as well as many more. Day includes lunch and afternoon tea; all for 35 TL. Call Maureen on 0542 854 4329 to book.

Flowerfairy. 35 tl each? what is that about £17? for a full day out with lunch?! maybe you should realise that the research, the finding of the walks and the hosting of it dosnt grow on trees!! What would you rather spend your money on? sitting at home moaning about everything to do with North Cyprus?

I've heard you're fed till you're fit to bursting so 35TL for a full day's entertainment and a massive (home-made) feast is a pretty good deal!

At current rates 35TL is less than £15. An absolute bargain if you ask me. Then again, some people expect a 3 course meal with drinks thrown in for that price - no pleasing some !! Paul

Camli, point taken, but I must add, you will never hear me moaning about north Cyprus, I just love everything about my life on this lovely Island. Also, my comment did bring the subject back to the top for more people to see

Flowerfairy, it is well worth the money for the expertise of Maureen and the lunch is always good. You will see things you would otherwise miss, I know we did. Give it a try!

Thank you, flowerfairy, for giving me the opportunity of giving you a breakdown of costs. Our Orchid and Wild Flower Walks are officially registered, we had to do a 3 month Government course to become registered guides and get our licence, the annual fee for this is high. We pay VAT at 15%. We have to be registered with a Travel Agent and pay a commission. We feel that a good, home baked lunch of quiches, salads, cheesecake, tea, coffee is part of the day along with tea and carrot cake for afternoon tea and well worth the expense and work incurred. The weekly advert in Cyprus Today is expensive but we cannot do without that publicity. We have kept the price at £15, or 35TL, for the last 5 years. We know other, unofficial "Guides" are not registered and pay out none of these costs.

Kamlykid (Maureen) I think what you have put is spot on! all the research and work that goes in to producing a day like yours is brilliant. As you know we run guided and self guided walks ourselves but will always recomend that our guests do the walk with you as it is such a good day!! The costs and work that go into doing official walks is very expensive and you make very little money as we well know. We had 2 guests walk with you this week and they thought it was excellant!! Flowerfairy, I was not trying to have a go just pointing out what Maureen has put. For 35tl it really is worth every penny. If you want a taste of North Cyprus and an imformative enjoyable day I would recomend this to anyone!!
