Earthquake Insurance

I was wondering if any apt. owners on Caesar have taken out earthquake insurance? and in the event of an earthquake what happens if only a few apts. in a block are insured? i.e. will insurers cover pay out to build a whole block or only to replace the insured apt.

in turkey its complusary to have goverment earthquake ins and then you top it up with personal ins, but everyone in the block has to have it and if you dont and they will only rebuild the amount of aparts thats ins so if there are 3 aprts in a block only 2 insured they only replace 2 the 3rd one looses it so i was informed by my ins agent when i last renewed mine when i lived in turkey, but i cannot really see how it would work it would be intresting to see if anyone else has come across this

Speaking of earthquakes, hubby was asking what all the banging was going on in the hills behind Catalkoy village - could there be activities waiting to errupt??
