Has anyone been to the new Madisons Mall in Nicosia? Opened by The Mall of Cyprus / Ikea. I have been past it many times but never really took notice of it. But now I've heard it has ice skating, 4D ciinema, lasers, bowling etc. And of corse all of the usual restaurants and clothes shops. Has anyone been?

It's full of plush 'new' shops for the younger shopper, we only spent a penny and went to Ikea.

It`s all expensive rubbish. No really well known outlets. Been once for the one and only time.

The Mall sounds really good and probably worth a visit as price and choice will always dictate the way we spend our money. However, I some times wonder that given where we live (TRNC) and the state of our economy wouldn`t we be better spending our dosh over here. I realise prices can be high due to import tax high overheads and some extreme "profit chancers" but perhaps lobbing the Gov`nt and getting the message across that a fair price will increase business may improve things here or not - just a Sunday morning thought!!!

what we need is to only buy goods marked down, special offers etc, or maybe a planned no shop one day it has got to be people power here, that is how they do it in us and uk only shop and buy bargains if its dear leave it on the shelf only way to teach them. i would rather spend my money here but some can be very greedy.

Typical example. My cousin bought a scarf for 10 lira and tried to explain where the shop was that she bought it (in Girne by the way). I thought I`d found the shop and said I`d have two of them and when I tried to confirm the price was 10 lira he said No they are 15. I just turned round and walked out telling him they were too much money. I obviously went to the wrong shop but the scarves are identical in both. Point being how can one shop a stones throw away from the other charge 50% more.
