| Does anyone out there know the formula worked to calculate the car tax for a Ford Mondeo, 2007 reg diesel, 2 litre. Or should I just pluck a figure of the air and go with that!!! |

| Our mate Paul has a VW diesel Bora and his tax was 1100 lira, simalar size to your car, hope this is a bit of help. Our little petrol Suzuki Swift was 159 Lira. |

| It,s dependant on age (import date) the older the cheaper , kerb weight in the log book and fuel , diesel is more than petrol,
if you go to the tax office in Girne and ask with log book as all info is in there.
If you want to tax it you must have the old tax ,insurance,mot and emmisions test and of course cash |

| Thanks guys and girls, the log book is here in Uk so a bit difficult. I have faxed it to Nicosia customs and waiting reply. |

| Roughly 45% of the Parkers guide book value plus a couple of grand for other bits which you would'nt pay on a petrol vehicle. |

| No Batgirl you did not misunderstand me, but I also need to learn the import tax and a very helpful lady at customs may be able to give me an idea on road tax also.
Looking at other posts I would guess the tax will be about 1000 lira per anum, I have 4 weeks to decide whether to bring car from UK or buy TRNC, decisions decisions.....

| Road tax on diesels is 1 tl per kilo. i.e 1000kg = 1000tl road tax. |
