We are holidaying in NC in July and staying at Riverside in Alsancak. We have read on the web about the "new water park in Lapta", but can't find a web page for details. Does it exist? Any responses would be appreciated. Also information on the beaches nearby Escape, Mosquito, Sunset etc regarding facilities costs etc if possible?

Thanks

I think what you are referring to is the Aqua Park at Club Lapethos.

I took kids there last week and they loved it! Even managed to get me down one of the slides!

There is separate small kids pool with little slides and a pirate ship and a pool just for swimming!

Cost 15ytl for adults and 10ytl for kids, there are some 25% discount leaflets about which makes it a bit better.

Drinks bit expensive though 5ytl for an Efes and 4ytl for a can of Pepsi etc.

Just one word of warning, there is a Blue slide that my son (aged 11) banged his head on! He had lump size of an egg bless him! My daughter did same last year and told him not to go on it! Probably best saved for the older ones!

But top marks to the staff as someone was there with bag of ice straightaway and asked if his belly felt OK and were his eyes OK.

Wow, thats changed a bit!!

We stumbled across it by accident last year and it was 5 ytl to get in, and nobody was using it!!

Obviously its better advertised now...........or not as thread 1 suggests!!

Club Lapethos Aqua Park - the kids love it, have to say they keep amused themselves all day and the place is clean.

Try Golden Sands beach (from alsancak heading to Girne before Escape Beach) 5ytl entrance and prob just as good as Escape. Jetskis and water rides available plenty of sunloungers well worth a visit.

I think Golden Sands is between Deniz Kizi and San Tropez, on the left heading towards Girne from Lapta.

Golden sands shares the beach with Denikizi - is just much cheaper to get onto going through their entrance - seperate sun beds (exactly the same), own snack bar (cheaper) and exactly the same beach/sea! If you approach Denikizi from the town centre (i.e. travelling west) you'll see the entrance just before the road down to Denikizi Hotel.

Just a minor point here - it's called the Golden Bay (not Sands) and it's behind (funnily enough) the Golden Bay Hotel. Alisun's directions and description are spot on. Don't really know why I'm divulging this information - it will start to get too crowded now! Seriously, it's a great little beach which also has terraced raised grassed areas with loungers for those who don't like getting sand in their bits!
