Steven, The way the weather is at the moment you will probably need at least one blanket as well. Chris

It's not really the best idea asking 'locals' about temperatures, as we are acclimatised and still in jumpers and boots, whilst tourists are here in shorts and sandals. Some of us still might be using electric blankets in April, but you might think it's tropical!! Bloomin' freezin last night!

Unless it gets considerably warmer at night I will still be using my electric blanket in April with sheet, duvet and bedspread.

Hi All, newbies to this site, we are coming out to our villa in Alsancak next for our second run since buying it last year, and of course we are well loaded with goodies, our Daughter and Son-in-Law are coming as well and they haved blagged a 40k allowance each on their flights. We were wondering after seeing this thread whether to bother trying to fit lightweight duvets in the baggage as we already have fairly heavy throws, plus sheets already out there, or is there somewhere near to our location we can buy them at a sensible price.

last week we were going to take our duvet off as were getting warm at nights but need it this week as the wind is now blowing from the north and therefore cold. bring your duvet if you have room. you can get them so cheaply in the uk. forecast is variable but it can be 20 degrees but if that cold wind blows, once the sun goes down .......

It is probably best to bring your duvets from GB. I didn't and ended up having to buy them here which was difficult as no one seemed to sell them and plus when I did find them they were very expensive compared to what you can pick up in your local supermarket back home. you could always put them in one of these space saver bags and remove the air from them to save the bulk. mx

They sell duvets in Mermaid Fabrics and they are not very expensive. Also homefront do them but you have to order in advance.

My mother arrived last Sunday from the UK and is currently sleeping with a summerweight duvet however I will add that she DOES NOT feel the cold easily - so my advice would be to bring duvets if you have the space and you can always use a lightweight blanket or throw on top if cold!

Thank you for your answers it seems the general concensus of opinion is to bring some out with us, might have to re-think our packing, but I think creature comforts come first, mind you we may find it warm out there, as we never have heating in the bedroom, and temperatures have dropped to -10c here a couple of months ago, and at present its about 5c at night, okay so we have a biggish duvet.

According to the weather forecast it's between 5 -10 degrees here at night, so yes it is cold.

Okay Okay have you got web cam on us, but seriously it has been very cold here, especially in the mornings, and we live in the South East, but unfortunately facing the North Sea.
