Turkcell and Telsim - not sure if there are any more. Always been happy with Turkcell and they do contracts as well as pay as you go.

Vodafone bought Turkish Telsim last year and should have integrated KKTC Telsim by now.

Turkcell is appalling in the Bogaz area. I use Cytamobile (South) for most of my calls at home. I get a much better signal than Turkcell, and it is very very cheap. If you live here and intend to spend any time in the South you will need a South mobile anyway (breakdowns and emergencies etc). Of course I also use VOIP.

| Now then. I have an unlocked old Nokia that I keep simcards in the back of (Orange, T Mobile, and Turkcel) and slot them in as needed. My proper phone is a contract Nokia, on Vodaphone. Would it take a Telsim card without being unlocked, since they are now integrated? Or would it need a Telsim card at all? just roam until it found it? I'm a bit of a technophobe really........ | It would not accept a Telsim card unless you get it unlocked (they are not integrated) If you roam, your Vodafone phone would find Telsim and lock on, but you will be billed on your UK bill. Very expensive. Get the phone unlocked and buy a local card |

Be warned - save everything on your phone before you have it unblocked. The chap in Telsim shop unblocked mine and everything from contact lists to diary was lost. He said it shouldn't have happened, but it did. My other phone was unblocked with no problems. Save everything first!
