| Olive oil freshly squeezed lemon juice vinegar herbs or mint (dried or fresh ) mix and pour less than a teaspoon of oil would create more than enough dressing for a salad for one person - and taste so much nicer than shop bought dressings |

| The problem is with jars of made up sauces/dressings is that they are highly processed and full of stuff that really shouldn't be there (emulsifiers, preservatives and various other chemical that do us no good at all). Fresh is always best. Regarding oil, a tablespoon of Olive or Sunflower oil has 120 calories and is full of GOOD HEALTHY fat. We all need polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats as vital sources of amongst other things, omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, the body can't produce these, so they need to come from the food we eat. Healthy fats need to make up between 25-35% of your daily food intake. |
