Hi I have a LG flat screen TV, just recently it has started making a buzzing noise on the sound . Does anyone have any idea what this could be and how to rectify it. Its driving me mad. Only happens when on TV station not when playing a DVD. Many thanks

Hi you did not say what size screen or model this is. There is a problem on 19 and 22 inch lgs with a buzz caused by vibrating coils behind the display panel, check if the brightness of the picture effects the buzz. I am an ex tv engineer from the days when we used to repair tvs but I will try to find more info if you let me know the model.

Hang on a mo.. TV station? ... Do you mean local TV channels or via Sat TV ? Your DVD is working via a SCART socket - how are you receiving the TV ?

I see you mentioned Heypem, i walked in the other day looking for a pressure tube (just a piece of thin gauge plastic piping ) for a dishwasher. Because i wanted the part and not a repair done was blanked, although i could see peices of the part i wanted there. Another potential customer that wont be going back.

Lovinit ! most digiboxes and satelite boxes have their own volume control operated by the remote and if for some reason that is turned down the tv volume is increased to compensate causing it to operate at a higher volume than normal and amplifying a hum caused by an "eartloop" between tv and box ! the mains electric in TRNC seems to be fairly rough and not filtered to other country standards thus causing a hum at high volume ! this may be the cause as you say it doesnt hum on dvd mode ! try playing about with your box remote to see if you can locate the "box volume" just a suggestion hope it cures it ! regards

HI Lovinit Are you connecting the Digiturk receiver and the DVD player via a scart lead ? If YES.. then try connecting the DT receiver via the same scart socket on the TV.. if THAT doesn't work, try using the DVD scart lead to both scart sockets on the TV.. That way you eliminate a problem with the receivers / tv scart sockets, and a scart lead problem... I'm hoping it is just dodgy scart lead..
