Have got a friend planning to bring dog over from Uk by car.

Does dog have to stay in car on Tasucu to Girne ferry or are they allowed to travel with you.

One reason I ask is from our own experience car and people do not always travel on same ferry!

When we came on this ferry in June our car was on a seperate ferry to us ! We also saw 2 or 3 dogs on the ferry on leads with theie owners - of course as we know the rules re forever changing so I would suggest they try to get this information confirmed by the ferry company though!!!

Hi, we brought 3 dogs and 2 cats over from England, via Fergun Ferries, 2 Alsatians and a Schnauzer all stayed in the vehicle with the cats, no problem. Make sure they have a good walk before boarding 'cos once they are on, they are on !!

All you have to do is pre-notify the Govt Vet Office in Lefkosa and they will meet you off the ferry, and take you to the quarantine station in Lefkosa..Once there you leave your treasured pets at the mercy of the Vet. Dept. and thats another tale.

Wouldnt ask just take the dogs out of the car and take them onto the ferry with you. Our car wasnt on the same ship as we were and our car was right down in the very bottom part of a cargoe boat, I certainly wouldnt have left them there. Get your vet in the UK to give you a sedative and DAP spray for them and just make sure you have poo bags and a water bowl.I would also recomend a blanket and cushion if you can manage. There is almost no informationgiven to you and we were very glad of help from English Cyps who told us what to do and where to go.Try and arrive during the week Mon to Thurs that way you will spend very little time at the vet dept.
