Alas, one mans misfortune is another man's opportunity. Slumps in the housing market worldwide are always cyclical. Give it a few years and house prices in Florida will improve again. Maybe time to get into the market whilst homes are so cheap ?? I was looking at homes in Florida on the Rightmove website and the prices are ridiculously low - $60000 (£40k) can get you a good 3/4 bed home which you can at least be confident that you do actually own. If you can sit out the slump then I believe that there is a good opportunity to make a decent profit over the next few years.
