Hi, I have a MacBook Pro which needs a service as the battery has started to bulge and urgently needs replacing. I need to take this to an apple registered store, does anyone know of such a store either on this side or on the south?

There is no official Apple dealer in the North, there's (at least) one Apple Store in South-Nicosia. Here are the details: By the way: Tefkros Olympios, the owner and a very helpful man, speaks English. http://www.allcrusades.com/BB_pics/Apple_Macintosh_Greycom_72.jpg It's about 20 minutes walking from the Ledra Palace border crossing. If you need more directions let me know here. Good luck with the repair!

Thanks for that Hans, please could you give me directions? I've also managed to find another Apple dealer called Prisma Computer in Nicosia, and they seemed quite helpful on the phone.

rosieposie! Walking directions: I encircled Ledra Palace in black and from there you should follow the red arrows on this (printable) map: http://www.allcrusades.com/BB_pics/South_Nicosia_Mac_dealer.jpg Tip-1 (if you don't want to walk): park your car on one of the two parking places (one is free the other is guarded and not free) near the Turkish Cypriot border crossing. Cross the border, walk past Ledra Palace and enter the Greek Cypriot part of Nicosia (Lefkosa). When you are past the Customs Office at your left hand you'll see taxi's. One of them will bring you to the Mac dealer for less than 10 Euros. Print the business card I uploaded in msg 2 and show it to the taxi driver! Tip-2: When you cross the border, take care to have (a copy of) your bill for the Mac with you. "They" usually don't look at what you are 'exporting' or 'importing', but better safe than sorry! Again: good luck - and always be nice to your Mac..!

We buy lots of spares from ebay and so surely you can get Mac spares sent out to you? Is the post not reliable enough to have them delivered by post? Just checking the video adaptors on ebay and they are various prices from 99pence to £50 approximately depending on the item with most being around the £5 - £7 mark. Some are plus postage and some come with free postage.
