The matches in South Africa (football, WC 2010) will be played on patented Dutch grass, provided by Desso from Holland. It's a mixture of artificial and real grass, as can be seen on the Arsenal football pitch in England already. The biggest advantage is that teams score more on this mixed grass. Every football field will cost appr. 350.000 Euros.

It's going to be really annoying when Tulips start growing on the pitch!

RE msg 3, ROBnJO: (...) It's going to be really annoying when Tulips start growing on the pitch! (...)

=> That'll only happen on the Dutch half when the feared Dutch will play England (mainly on the British half)...

RE msg 7, ROBnJO: (...) but then,..... in the second half?? (...)

=> New rule: one half will last 90 minutes and the second half won't be played. Don't tell the England team. Well, they wouldn't understand it anyway...

Hans,

If I understand correctly the following article, the grass is not Dutch but from BELGIUM...! Is Dendermonde in Holland?

Oo
