I am reliably informed that consideration is being given to creating a bowling club in the Esentepe area. Everything is in place and if there is enough interest they could have it ready within a few months. Plans would include winter bowling holidays with players staying in on-site accommodation. There is already a bar, swimming pool, toilets, lounge and changing room. What demand do members of this board believe there would be for this type of facility? Which would be the most popular form of bowling? I'm afraid at this moment I'm not in a position to confirm who the investor is.

Sorry but that's where the facilities are so no other option for this project.

I understand they would have equipment for hire, hopefully in time they would be selling clothing and equipment.

The way things are going I will have two full sets of woods for sale as we would only consider playing west of Girne. Taylor size 5 and Henselite dimpled size 3. Both in excellent condition.

I would possibly be interested in flat green bowls, when I eventually move out there.

I know its a bit of a hike from West to East Girne but the new road should help. I know of a number of golfers who travel several times each week to play at Korineum from Lapta etc.

I believe Flat is end to end with 4 bowls each - Crown whole green is used, only 2 bowls each, also the green is raised in the centre a couple of feet making it a much more difficult game - This is my best guess any advances ???

This project is still being considered, I would request that anyone interested puts the word around that there is a real chance of this happening. Look out for local press reports this winter. The investor has the land, equipment, staff, club facilities and is motivated to make it happen. If there is a genuine interest for this type of sport then we could have the first natural grass bowling club in Cyprus.

Coffer i am deff interested, can you give us any more info as where its to be cos it sureley must be the golf club if it has all these facilitys already, and whot the man has invested in the golf club and lodges it would make sence

i would think that flat green would appeal to a wider market than crown

hello coffer yes i think i hit the nail on the head its gotta be the golf club, and it would be a great addition to the place, but you know they really do need to start taking heed of how the place is viewed, the set is great but the service outwith certain bits is second rate, and bring back the happy waggon

Very interested but would have thought flat green has a wider appeal than crown green.

Yep very interested and as we live in Esentepe, all the better, I think flat bowling would have wider appeal. NB1
