Nationalist movement platform supports Eroglu

The Nationalist Movement Platform has voiced full support to the National Unity Party’s Presidential Candidate – Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu in April’s Presidential Election. Receiving the platform representatives today, Eroglu said that the Greek Cypriot Side, which has always refused to put its signature under an agreement, is boasting with the failure in reaching a settlement.



Prime Minister Eroglu said that the Cyprus Turkish Side has been searching ways of bringing a viable solution to the Cyprus problem but complained that the Greek Cypriot Side lacks the will to settle the problem.

“They are boasting about not putting their signature to any agreement while continuing to sit at the table as if they are in support of a settlement. Because of this, the talks will continue after the Presidential elections. We will also be at the table if we win the elections”, the Premier said.

Thanking the Platform for its support, Mr Eroglu said that public views will guide him in the solution process and promised to defend Turkey’s active and effective guarantee over the island.



For his part, Platform Secretary-General Hüseyin Azer Özkan promised to provide all kinds of support to Mr Eroglu to ensure that he will continue to serve the TRNC.
