Not sure of the rate, but for your information, you can now retain your PAYG number

They offer packages now, mine is 100tl per month for 600 minutes to other Turkcell numbers only. They do smaller packages of 300 or 60 minutes I think. You can also get text message packages, 100 for 8tl per month (only turkcell). Otherwise you can just set yourself a monthly limit of say 100tl and when you are close to it they will send you a text message to let you know and then you just go in to the branch once a month to pay it, or you can do it online now. SOrry I dont know what the cost per minute is normally, but I think you can check that on their website.

message 3: this is much more expensive than Telsim - I am paying 69TL for 500 minutes per month to any other TRNC phone, mobile or landline. Standing charge is 2.65TL.

Nostradamus thats a good deal with telsim, I think Turkcell are going to have to review their charges if there is that much difference. I actually find my bill is about 140tl per month with the 600min package because of course I have to phone telsim users occasionally and texts to the uk.

55tl for 300 mins to turkcell only+5tl to include the landlines as well. Telsim does seem to give better deal since their package deals are to all networks.

Keep it coming guys, Telsim does seem more economical at present especially if it covers all networks, anyone know where in Girne they are?

Telsim seems much more economical for 'pay as ya go' cards - my Turkcell bugger lasts no time at all, but wifey's Telsim seems a much better deal, and she really needs surgery to help get her hand off her phone!

I am with Turkcell and have noticed that for the last 2 months my bills have virtually doubled! Has anyone else had this lately? Also is it possible to transfer to Telsim but keep my phone number? It does sound as if Telsim offers a better deal.
