Is your mum's broadband via a dish, landline or a USB + data 3G sim? A dish requires a DSL router A landline requires an ADSL router A USB + data Sim uses the mobile telephone network (Telsim or Tukcell data sim card) If you tell us the are your mum is in, then others may be able to suggest a suitable sim card. You could purchase an unlocked USB stick off Ebay to give your mum an alternative backup. These links may help you to decide: http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/internet.asp

Looking at your first post again - who said you need a router? Was it your mum or the guy selling the laptop, because as Geoff said you may find that Nethouse provided a router.

You have to appreciate I am simply the messenger here, as it was recommend on another thread. This model will have been superseded with 'Wireless n' for faster data transfer. However, this faster transfer will only work if you have a computer that can access 'wireless n'. So if you are happy to stick with the WRT54G2 then choose the cheapest as they're all the same.
