| Hi Fanos, How about getting the Cyprus Times to launch a campaign to force the Council of Minsters to sort out the housing market shambles? Why not ask them why it takes so long for them to grant permission to buy? Why do they allow the legal profession to draw up purchase contracts when apparently it is illegal to do so until permission to buy has been granted? Why builders are allowed to start work without the correct planning applications having been approved? Why builders can just ignore their customers when it comes to snagging work without fear of being reprimanded by anyone? Why builders can decide to pull out of the transaction seemingly at any time without the purchaser having any come back? Why purchase contracts are seemingly worthless in the TRNC? I am sure that there are plenty of other examples available to you if your paper is interested. If the C of M were able to sort out these problems it would certainly give some fresh impetus to the flagging building industry in TRNC and everyone would benefit long term. The Ex Pat community are a vital source of income for the TRNC economy, it's about time the C of M recognised this. By the way, this is not a political thread. Regards Gtg |
