Reported this morning on the BBC news a 7 year old Russian child who had been adopted by an American couple in Tennessee, was put on a plane back to Russia with a note saying he was becoming very naughty and increasingly violent and they no longer wanted him!

My anonymous friend has queue-jumped 'arrry' and requests that 'nurseawful' wears her nurse's uniform whilst administering punishment, which, he hopes will include an enema!

The problem with naughty children is - they are not loved by their parents.

Children who are loved can also be very naughty.

I have one, he played truant at 5, by the time he was 7 I was visiting the school every week to discuss his behaviour with his teacher. In comprehensive school I had a great rapport with his house master who used to ring me everytime there was a problem and we discussed the problem and sought a solution TOGETHER. I referred myself to a child psychologist when he was 7 and it was the best thing i did - they taught me a lot about handling very difficult, naughty child. i had no problems with my other 2 children who were very well behaved. He was and is greatly loved and is now 40 years old and has spend the last 22 years in the RAF. He was also the most intelligent of the 3 children and the most loving.

Bring back the cane and the birch - that'll stop the wee buggers swearing in church!

The teachers today cannot discipline unruly children.

Many of the children are poorly disciplined at home and they then take this behaviour into the school. I was caned at school and it did me no harm. I taught YT/YTS for 30 years and I never found a bad teenager, but I found many teenagers with bad parents. Teachers are frightened to do anything now and this is WRONG!!!!

I have taught excluded pupils. The schools excluded them sent them to us. I had 12 excluded pupils in one class. One boy (a fun loving boy with a pleasant nature) picked up a table and threw it across the room because I told him not to lie on it. I dismissed him and had him removed from the group. A week or so later he was back in the group - my bosses (local authority) took him back without consulting me. I asked my boss if the boy had to attack me before they would do anything to deal with his behaviour.

I feel very sorry for this wee boy who had already had a terrible childhood. This American

woman should be banned from ever adopting a child again. People treat their dogs better.

All children are naughty, some more than others, but doesn't mean we don't love them.

I have taught in List D some of the most difficult children in Scotland and felt it should have been the

parents who were in these schools.

I agree Phylray. Parents only have one or two children to care for and maintain discipline, teachers have up to 30+. If the parents had to sit in the class room for a day they would really 'see' what their kids are like. I am a great advocate of putting cctv cameras in the classroom and then when there is a problem, play it back to the parents. also parents should be accountable for their kids behaviour not the school.

Up until last year, when I was semi-retired, I did supply in secondary schools. You are really in at the

deep end, but there were schools/departments which seemed to manage disruptive pupils better than

others. I knew schools where I would get back-up from the dept. & right the way up if there were any

pupil determined to disrupt the lesson. Not an easy job these days, but it is still fulfilling, and most

children are a pleasure to teach.
