Parents get 12 months Prison for cruelty!!

Parents of a 9 year old girl, who had the mental age of a 3 year old and was discovered accidentally hanged in her bedroom, have pleaded guilty to cruelty!

She was found in squalid conditions excrement over the walls and the poor child had to use a chest of drawers as her toilet. She was withdrawn from school last year as she was attending poorly dressed and dirty often with excrement on her hands. Social workers paid a visit in August and found no one at home so no follow up was done.



I just can't believe that the sentencing in the UK has got so lenient that this couple have only been given 12 months, probably out sooner for good behaviour. Sick.

it makes your blood boil, justice, social workers, they should be brought to task over this. so sad

They should have been given life for the life of their daughter, this sort of sentence makes my blood boil.

How many more times must this happen before Social Services get the message that one visit is not enough, especially when, on the first visit they find no one home? It is bad enough that the child suffered such cruelty at the hands of her parents but there is absolutely no excuse for the lack of effort made by Social Services. No doubt there will be an "investigation" followed by an apology and that will be it until the next time.

Yes Lilli, it makes my blood boil too. As for hanging, I think it would be too good for those parents; they should be made to suffer as their child did.

I daresay the same old platitudes will come out again, e.g. "Lessons have been learned", etc. etc.



Trouble is, lessons never seem to be learned, do they?

Somebody phoned me last night with this dreadful story had heard it on Sky News. I see nothing in the paper today (UK paper) - I hope that fellow prisoners get hold of him and her and give them what they deserve - the mind cannot equate to the cruelty of such people - they do not deserve to breathe. Bet none of the Social Services will be bought to task - what a waste of space they are.
