Mobile Phone Sim Card Locked

We have had a Turkcell sim card for some time and use it when we are in Cyprus.



Preparing for our next visit in April and checking out the mobile, the phone registers the sim card is blocked then requests enter Puk code.



I do not have the Puk code.



Is there anyway I could get someone to unlock my phone (it's a pay as you go).

I normally top up at Lemar near Pia Bella.



If it is not possible, how much would a new sim card cost and could I get it at Lemar?

Hi..just take it in to the Turkcell shop..they will sort it for you..for about 10ytl

There is a difference between unlocking and unblocking. The PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code is required because your phone has been blocked, possibly because you put in a wrong PIN number 3 times - in which case contact your phone network operator with your details , or it could be a block put on your SIM card by Turkcell, in which case visit their offices.

You may wish to change to Telsim as I understand they are cheaper. The offices for Turkcell and Telsim are on the Lapta road ,leave Girne (past Colony hotel) for Lefkosa and turn right at roundabout. Tukcell office on the left and Telsim further down on the right near Mr Pound.

If you still have your envelope that the sim was in, there is a list of numbers at the top and the PUK is on there. Hope this helps.
