The new sponsor of the ABCC (Alsancak Backgammon and Chess Club) wonders if chess players would be interested to play for prize money, which he has made available (250 Sterling). Participation is free for experienced and inexperienced players (gentlemen). Ladies and children can play in their own category for 150 and 75 pounds respectively. The matches start Tuesday April 13 from 2 pm. Subscription was closed today at 5 pm.

Forgot to add: ABCC plays at Guido's, opposite the Bronze Lady in Alsancak. Every Tuesday, from 2 pm.

Your self-serving false advertising for your club is bang out of order. You must be learning from some of the UK TV channels by stitching up viewers by charging high rate phone calls for something that didn't exist or was out of date! You posted at 19:13 though the deadline was 19:00? No wonder the Dutch traders are so good at making money!

I'm just a Tavlaplayer,we just play friendly,or for a drink.WE too are part of the chess club,indeed the larger part.And we play alongside the Chess club.
