hi all Wanted your advice about how much spending money is enough for a 10 day trip. We were out last year and stayed at the hideaway club, and so all our drinks, food was bought there. This time however we are staying in a villa, and so obvioulsy the bills wont be as big as buying drinks from the shop is cheaper, wont be 7tl everytime we have a beer for example. We plan to do a brunch every day, then eat out most nights. our money for trips is sorted, just not sure what we will need for eating out every night. If you could give me an idea what it would cost for 2 of us to have a starter and main, plus a beer or 2 and wine? Some nights we will go for meze deals, and others want to eat from menu sorry im not even sure that made sense. any advice would be welcome! thank u

hello, In most restaurants a meal can range between 15TL - 30 TL depening on what you eat and where you go. My boyfriend and I went for a meal the other day at Sabor, had 2 main meals, 2 white wines and 1 beer, the bill came to 65TL or something like that. But in a different restaurant the bill came to 100TL. so it will range between 65-110 i think hope this helps

£1000 - £1200 for a ten day holiday. Depending on where you eat and what you drink.

Blimey Bill - talk about how the other half live Seriously, I would have thought you were maybe erring on the 'generous' side. Of course, it all depends on where you eat, drink, etc. but in our experience, we find that the prices seem to even themselves out, e.g. kebab-type night up at the village one evening a maybe something more 'up market' on another. It will be interesting to hear what others think. Jean

I think with a budget of £100-£120 a day for food and drinks you would need your own Jumbo to get you off the island!!

What ever you spend it will be a least a third less than you would have paid in the south.

We have just returned from 10 days - myself and 2 hungry teenage boys. we did £150 at supermarket (ate every breakfast/lunch at home) and £400 in total in eve (stayed in to eat 2 nights). Fillet steak at joya/pizza at Remseys/meze and shish at Yemans/chicken chips at Fez /fresh fish at barB so a good mix of places.

I think Bill is right...unforunately NC is no longer bargain basement, and most people when on holiday and I repeat holiday spend not only on food and drink but things like boat trips, go-karting, paragliding, gifts, clothes etc etc......so its quite possible to spend £250 one day then only £50 the next.......as a rule of thumb I would certainly budget on £100/day

If you want a really casual, traditional, inexpensive meal, freshly cooked and plenty of it, try The Fast Food Cafe in Alsancak one evening. Approx 15TL and a great place to people watch! Don't be put off by its name.

Wackyjim - I must admit, I was only reckoning on how much it would cost for day-to-day expenses, i.e. eating, drinking, beach trips, etc. leapylee - fully agree with you. That was the 'kebab night up the village' I was referring to Great value for money. J

Re: Msg 3&6, Totally agree with No1, restaurants are not that cheap here, one can easily spend quite a lot of money if you order e.g. fresh fish or seafood with freshly roasted vegetables , not fish and chips, and drink wine , not beer. I usually end up with huge bills as I do not eat fast food.
