Basheer, we drove down 6 years ago, left UK on Monday afternoon and got to Girne 9am Friday morning. Went thru austria, slovenia, croatia, Serbia,Bulgaria etc It cost about £1000 that was going through the tunnel instead of a ferry to France. We stayed Monday night in Germany, Tuesday night in Croatia, Wednesday night in Turkey and Thursday slept (if you could call it that) on the Ferry. We were under strict time constraints as my companion had to be back in UK by Sunday, would have been nicer to take more time but it was a great experience. Good Luck!

We took 10 days but in fairness we treat the journey as a holiday and didn't rush. Left UK on eurotunnel and headed for Baden Baden in Germany where we had our 2nd overnight stop (1st at Ashford in UK). From there we travelled south east towards Stuttgart and turned south towards Austria on the Kempsten road. Travelled over the top of the Alps, descended past Innsbruck and entered Italy where we stopped in the Dolomites. The following day was Pavrotti's state funeral and roads were busy around Modena & Bologna, and we made it to Anconna by evening, where we boarded a ferry, for a 2 night journey to Cesme (port near Ismir in Turkey). Sailed through the Corinth Canal on way. Arrived at midnight so we stopped overnight in Cesme. Headed for south coast via Aydin and reached Antayla where we had another overnight stop. Final leg was along south coast to Tuscuco where we boarded overnight ferry to Girne. Not the most direct route but very scenic Max...

Cost me £1800 getting over but that included a Michelin restaurant in Piacenza. Chunnel, Metz, Switzerland, Italy coast, ferry to North Greece, Turkey west coast then the ferry from hell in Tasucu. 8 nights. Back-Ferry from hell in Girne, Marmaris, Bodrum, ferry to Kos, ferry to Piraeus, ferry to Bari, Italy coast, Switzerland, France, chunnel. Around £2 K but had a friend half the way and we partied. 8 nights.

We rode our motorbike over last May for the 2 months we stayed in the TRNC, it took 7 days, no real problems, but just hassle with paperwork at non EU borders, as others have said make sure paperwork is write in your name including second names on vehicle reg documents. Also not all countries are covered on your green card, you have to buy at the border, min 3 months in Serbia and Turkey. Also speed camera's in Turkey we got caught both ways max speed for a motorbike is 67 mph, also speeding tickets are linked to computers so border staff know if there's an outstanding fine. Customs and Police checks for ferry to TRNC in Turkey are very hard work, we went on one ferry went on another ferry which crossed at same time. Having said that what an experiance every one we meet was helpful, even the police shook our hands after booking us. Good Luck
