Groucho, This is a partitionists dream. Poor old Chrisophias will have a really bad day after seeing this lot. Turkey, may have something to say about it, unless already agreed. Anyone willing to bet what the future outcome of the talks will be, or lack of them?. No chance of ever getting to a referendum GC side, Mr X will not even have anything to submit which could be agreed with Team Eroglu . Just my thoughts of course.. I know I am a total amateur with regard to Cyprus Politics, but like to put my penny worth in - for what its worth. And to stand corrected.

I think this must be a joke of the Cyprus forum as all the people counted are hardliners against any possible unification.. most of them are even to old to get through the negotiations talks so no worries. the team has not been anounced yet.

yorgozlu, as I think that your turkish might be better than your english, read this: Uzman bir görüşmeci heyeti ile çalışacağız. Source: UBP 2010 Cumhurbaşkanlığı seçim bildigesi. http://www.ulusalbirlikpartisi.com/bildirge.html I could not read or find any names, could you?

henrik; "yorgozlu,as I think your turkish might be better then your english, read this:" How about my greek?Since it was also announced in greek as well on BRT news? Not that it matters at all what language,me,you or anyone else TRIES to speak since it doesn not make a slighest difference to PERSONS NAMES. The names was announced on LOCAL tvs straight after election results on the same day.Perhaps,it did not come as far as KIBRIS POSTASI or OLAY. You might also want to enquire a little more on,"what the political party leaders" would have got, that was supporting TALAT!!!

I do not think one single bit that,it makes any difference who will be in the team since shots would come from elsewhere! Now,for me,it is SIT BACK AND WATCH time.

yorgozlu: Do you honestly believe that New Pres would pick a team that he knows will be , apparently, according to some, do as they are told by Turkey. Old Denktash is a real deep state Champion and I doubt would have joined as Adviser if he thought Turkey will cause total chaos to TRNC aspirations. I really need to be convinced that Eroglu will bow down to Turkish pressure because of EU Committment. As I have said before, the Army will not leave TRNC, for a thousand reasons. Turkey plays a brilliant game of strategy, elections domecratic, Turkish Government tried in many ways to help peace process, not responsible for undesired democratic result by elections. I know Turkey is constantly being blamed by RoC, Greece and others for hold back peace talks. Where is the proof ???. And they are certainly not responsibe for the Nightmare about to be unleashed on poor old Christophias. I reckon he will be out of Office within 3/6 months.

Lilli: One of us is in a time warp here, It might well be me. Neither Denktash has been in office for a while. I mean Christophias, GC President, I think.!!!. Maybe my Structured Sentence not up to it. Yanks are in Gecitkale now. "The Brinsley Plan" sounds like a good idea.

We all know that Cypriot voters will never agree on a bi-communal, bi-zonal federation - anyone who thinks the GCs will agree to a rotating presidency with a TC ruling over them has to be deluded. This being so, partition is the only solution People go on about how well Talat was doing - NO HE WASN'T, they have been pulling his chain for five years. Get real people!

well said markvpiazza, the bubbles will never agree to a rotating presidency and the idea of a a TC ruling is a pretense (just like archibishop chromosome visiting turkey and pretending that he really wants to be friendly) and also, the idea that the more liberal of the cypriots want a united tc and gc island (comrades) this is also b.s. - why does anyone want change anyway? the tc have got their eu passports , they have their european health care system, they have their donums of land (if they havent already sold it) the bubbles have their well established eu funded businesses thank you very much who really wants change? thats my cynical lonbdon cyp viewpoint init?

| Henrik: From message 14 of discussion. Bit of a lucky guess then. "Where did you read his denial story".?? yorgozlu: Do you honestly believe that New Pres would pick a team that he knows will be , apparently, according to some, do as they are told by Turkey. | henrik; I think you'll find that I already said,"it would have to be approved by Turkey" But, http://www.cyprus-forum.com/cyprus29556.html just to give an idea that I did not make this up ps.Do please refer to me with name or not at all. |

Bill Like I said Bill,it is now sit back and watch time. The old grandfather Denktas is more then capable to shock us all.Whether we like/approve is another story. But,anyone that thinks R. Denktas is not involved even when he is not physically there is only fooling oneself. Back to reality: It is US,public that would decide to everything at the and of the day......all the rest is a s**t talk. |

hi folks, to all who are interested: As it is getting slowly clearer, 50% of the negotiations team will be old members of Talats team. first names where made public yesterday, Downer was quite happy about the names on the list. Eroğlu has accepted all the points hich where agreed on, all the propaganda and election tactics where thrown away and forgotten immediately - Negotiations to continiue with same old target: One cyprus identity with two federal states (TRNC and ROC).. (like Germany model with states - Berlin, Bavaria, Hamburg, Bremen, Sachsony .. ..) Nothing changed, only a few names.. Talks will start on 26 or 27 of may.. good luck to all of us!
