Just got back from a visit to Guido's and Liz's place (opposite the Bronze Lady in Alsancak) where I treated myself to some of Guido's specialties. Oysters and his geat paté (I'll eat my ordered steak tomorrow). I can really recommend Guido's!

Oh - for goodness sake. I am a patron of Guidos and like both of the proprietors very much indeed, but has no-one ever heard of the expression "doing more harm than good"?

is there really people out there who would not visit a restaurant and deprive themself of a beautiful meal just because people who have already enjoyed a meal at the said place want to tell others how wonderful the food was?

Well if there is folk out there who are like that,im really shocked.

It seems Guido's is being used as bait now, not to try and build any sense of community, even if that's what certain posters say their aim is, but to get up people's noses.

Not ONE word in msg 1 is untrue. But if it's upsetting people to read the name of that restaurant I won't do it again. Let's hope the same goes for all the other restaurants and bars advertised and praised on this board. But I won't put my money on it.

I think you are a lovely lady, you do a lot for charity and the community, but I think there is too much about Guidos on the forum, end of story, that is my opinion and however many people come on and have a go at me I will not change that, it is my right. But some of these people are actually doing harm to your business, if I was in the UK I would be very wary of visiting your place when over here if it is full of such people who cannot or will not accept that people are entitled to their own opinions, it makes it seem like a closed shop of old.

This is where it all blows up for me.If someone praises a certain restaurant then DC has to pull the poster to shreds and take the preverbial but when he does exactly the same and praises Guido's and someone else takes the preverbial then he doesn't like it and starts throwing his dummy out of the pram.



I've been to Guido's twice for sunday dinner and both time it was bloody grand,it's a shame it's not nearer to Esentepe,but Lilli,your friend Hans is not doing you any favours in my opinion and by the looks of it others agree.
