Has any member found an easy answer to poor grounting and discolouring, apart from from grinding it and replacing.

Thanks

There is no real solution, is this wall or floor? to re grout you need the grout to key in ideally to the depth of the tile,

overgrouting is very short term and will just flake off.

If you are raking out , be very careful, tiles chip so easily at the edge. If you can rake out and get a decent key depth, then you are in with a chance.

Also correct type of grout , for the of area. very important,

I have seen builders here grout floors with white wall grout.

I was not aware there was seperate grout for floors and walls, apart type for bathrooms etc.

I have a feeling they may have used tile cement.

Lapta Runner, there are many types of different grout, you can get most of them here, but as the tile shop told me , the builders very often just go for the cheapest.

Where is the problem ? pool, shower ,wall, floor, etc. I will try to advise,

Floor tiles on kitchen floor very grubby, grout finish seems very coarse, upstairs in bedrooms just flaking. House is 5 years old.

For cleaning grout I find Dropey is great it fizzes up the minute it is applied and really lifts the dirt turning the grout white again. For really stubborn marks a toothbrush to brush the Dropey in.

Lapta runner, is it grey floor grout or white, if it is white they have probably used normal white wall grout, and it is not suitable for a floor, you will struggle to keep it clean.

In general proper floor grout is far more hard wearing, (but normaly light grey) I will gladly have a look for you, no charge, and I am not looking for the work , my days of messing with tiles are hopefully over,

If you want to put a few lira in Ismails fund to that would be welcome. Just give me a call on 0533 8436539.
