Telephone Lines In And Around Karsyaka

Hi To One & All, If I was to request a land line to my place in Karsyaka, how long will it take them to install the line ?. What is the cost of a new line and the running cost eg line rental, phone calls, etc.



Or are land lines a thing of the past

The only way to find out is to go to the telephone office - opposite the Post Office - in Girne and ask. Go to the enquiries office - side entrance, ground floor. Take your property details with you so that they can check on where exactly you live. It is impossible to know how much a connection will cost without asking them - it depends largely on whether anybody near you already has a landline. In my part of Lapta where there are existing lines, an installation only takes about 2 weeks and is cheap but, if they need to put up poles it will be quite another matter. It's useful if you want ADSL internet which is superior in quality and reliability to anything else that's on offer.

It is so much cheaper to use a landline than a mobile phone, so get one if you can.
