A friend of mine uses theirs to park at the airport. They haven't had any problems. Don't know about parking on double yellow lines though.

I had disabled badge in UK. Was told by friend who was told by Mayor that one could get one from the office in the square in Girne. So went in to ask, this week, got nowhere fast!! I just put my out of date one in the front windscreen! Cant find the blue window sticker, though Im sure I brought it - maybe it will turn up one day! Noticed that all the disabled places in the big car park had cars without any badges or anything on them, and def. saw ablebodied people getting out of the cars!! Cant see the sense in having special parking places if there is no way of knowing if a car has the right to be there!!

| My daughter in law who is wheelchair bound is visiting at the end of May. It is her first visit and I would like to take her and my son to the harbour for a meal. Are there any disabled parking spaces at the end of the harbour, or is it just park where you can? There should be fines for parking in disabled bays like in England the expats can't be the only ones who use wheelchairs, there must be some unfortunate Turkish Cypriots as well, what do they do? | No. You can get down to the bottom of the street by car and you are on the Harbour near the Castle entrance. |

Yes i know that but the yellow lines there make it difficult to park any more as the castle car park is closed to the public now. My point is it is very difficult here if you are disabled my daughter has M S so i know all about it!

I've never used my blue badge in trnc as there doesn't seem to be anywhere assigned to disabled parking. However I'm in a wheelchair with MS and have never failed to park in Girne - I always use the car park in front of the Rocks hotel - it's a few minutes walk from the harbour but pretty level. Best of luck.
