Advice needed please! Having a new build the ceramic tiles throughout are stained, whatever the builders have used for adhesive looks as if they have coated the top of the tiles too! I have tried Dropey and other cleaning materials but have had no luck. The tiles look as if they are clean when wet but are still dirty when dry. Any solutions gratefully received.

Speak to Lee at Masterfinish - 0533 831 8236. Get him to scrub a small area as a trial. If it works do the rest.

Get down on your knees, scrubbing brush, hot saopy water and lot's of elbow grease. Works every time in my house....I have seen my wife doing it, she also takes plenty breaks to stretch her back and fetch me a beer from the Fridge, AND she never walks in front of the tv blocking my view!!! Bless her cotton socks.

Please can I say this was a genuine request for advice (which I thought was this Forum's primary intent). Whilst I appreciate some members may wish to trivialise my question I would still like some constructive answers.

I don't know if it will be good for your problem, but my neighbour said 'tuz ruhu' when I wanted to clean my tiles and it did work. I think it should be used cautiously and was amazed it came also in huge bottles. It translates as 'Spirit of Salts' and I'm sure you could not buy it else where like that. Have to say, my tiles and grouting lines looked amazing afterwards!!

Oneeyedpearl, I had to go down on my hands and knees with pot scourers to get the marks off my ceramic tiles as I had tried everything else to no avail. Chris

I also cleaned the mosaic around my big bathroom mirror with it and while it did not get rid of the silicon marks there it helped remove the more easily
