The word Karsiyaka and luxury should not be used in the same context. This is a personal point of view and not neccesarily the view of other members.

Karsiyaka is a great place to live - quiet, great panoramic views of the sea (sun sets right in the ocean), mountain virtually in the back garden. Far enough away from the "Lapta strip" but still not too far from Kyrenia. This is a personal point of view and not necessarily the view of other members

This is getting very personal, may need a moderator to sort things out. This is a personal point of view and not necessarily the view of other members or would be members.

Wyn Tongue in cheek I assume From the Ship you should head west through Alsancack and Lapta and then you can't miss it. Should you miss it you can head for Camlibel and then Guzylyert. Beautiful scenery on the way. This is a personal point of view and not necessarily the view of other members

You cant miss it, you will note the unfinished "luxury" properties of a dick called Sadik Ozturk ( soon, fingers crossed to be a convicted criminal) and a dick called Cafer soon to have his b@ll@cks cut off! a couple of unfinished hotels, one decent seaside restaurant, a couple of shops, and one of the best butchers on the Island. This is a personal point of view and not necessarily the view of other members

I agree about the butcher - if that is the one at the Karsiyaka coffee shop cross roads. But, again, this is a personal point of view and not necessarily the view of other members

Hi Puppylover, I now of a building that looks like an unfinshed hotel opposite the Koala holiday apartments or village sea side just before the beach bar and sun beds are set up. Regards Ivan.

Hi Ivan... Thank you for that. I actually spotted a building that looked like a hotel while taking our puppy for a walk this evening.....its on the coast side of Karsiyaka more or less opposite Hos Bes (?) supermarket. What a shame it will probably sit there unused for years.....it's in a lovely location. Regards Judy

Simba canim, Thank you, The Hotels have now been spotted which is good news for the residents of this village. And yes Mehmet the butcher (kasap) next to the coffee shop in the square is one of the best and will hang your meat as you request and he genuinely understands quality of product and how to provide customer satisfaction. (maybe he should be elected as the minister for tourism)!

Just for info, the unfinished hotel kind of opposite Hos Bes right on the sea is, I believe, in Lapta not Karsiyaka (I do stand to be correct though). Also, Aslan forgot to mention the excellent restaurant up in the village called Cano's which is also related (somehow) to the excellent butcher already mentioned!! Jo (also loving Karsiyaka)

Jo, I think Ms Aslan must be commenting on a different karsiyaka to the one in which we live. The views are fabulous up here, the people great and could not agree more about Cano our own little secret. Yes Cano and butcher are brothers. Also correct again, that blot on the landscape is Lapta!

Cano restaurant is in the centre of the village next to the small shop at the top of the olive oil factory road. They do a set meal of meze plus main course for about 25ytl. Main courses are fish, scampi, steak, chicken and lamb sis, mixed kebab, kofte and tandoori chicken which is excellent. He has recently increased his prices but is still very reasonable. I think the basic kebabs are about 15ytl. Well worth a visit but keep it under your hat cos we don't want to have to book!!!! Lovely people and good service at reasonable prices. What more could you want?
