Lost cat in Alsancak

I've not seen one of my cats since Saturday morning 8th May,- very unusual, as she never goes far (and NEVER misses a meal ) - I know that everyone always says that...

I live down the road alongside Green Petrol, so that's the most likely area, except I've already scoured it!

it sounds to me like she may have got shut in somewhere? Garage,shed.... just anywhere.

Your cat is absolutely beautiful fingers crossed she will turn up soon. Our dogs found a tortoiseshell kitten on Friday evening in the middle of an olive grove she is not fluffy like yours though. Strange thing is she is very affectionate, tame & obviously not a feral cat it is a mystery how she got there and a miracle she survived being mauled by 2 excited dogs without being harmed.

Hi Keith

My cat went missing for about 3 days and i just kept calling her and she eventually came back, she had been bitten by something, but thankfully she was ok, but the vet said she would have found a safe place till she felt well enough to come home.

I hope this is the same for you and that your cat comes home safe soon, by the way she looks the spiting image of my cat.

No news yet, I'm afraid...

I'd been out sticking notices on 'Telegraph Poles' etc, and a young lad knocked ar the door, flourishing one of my posters, asking if I had seen the cat (I think he's after a possible reward! ) - I gave him some sellotape and asked him to stick it back up!

Still, it shows that people do notice.

Her name is 'Latif' which is Turkish for 'Beautiful', and she is lovely, she absolutely adores being cuddled...

Bad news I'm afraid

The farmer opposite knocked on my door about an hour and a half ago, and said that there was a dead cat in one of his concrete water storage tanks

I went with him to fish her out, and sure enough, it was Latif - she must have been in there since Saturday.

I've just spent an hour burying her in the front garden; I'll plant some flowers there to remember her by

The farmer said that he had pulled her out a couple of months ago - he had been working in the field & heard her making a noise - they love hunting for Geckos on top of the tanks, and she must have slipped in

As the water level is often a few feet below the top, she couldn't climb out, and was swimming around

After he heard yesterday that one of my cats was missing, it made him think, and he eventually went and climbed up to have a look, and sadly, there she was

Well the next time one goes AWOL, I know where I'll look first

So sorry Keith. At least you can be reassured that she was enjoying herself chasing small reptiles. I once had a cat just like her when we lived in Limassol many years ago .
