Can anyone either give me a quote or recommend someone who could give me a quote to have a slabbed patio area laid 4m x 3m please. We are on Chelsey Village at Arapkoy, approx 15 mins drive east of Girne. We are in the UK but out for a week in June and would like it done before then if possible so we can check it and pay.

Trevor, A piece of advice for you, Try and have it done whilst you are here so you can keep ane eye on the workmanship! Should'nt take too long and I should'nt need to tell you about the countless cowboys masquerading as builders. Nick

Do you want tiles, or paving slabs - grouted, or ungrouted - size, colour, pattern? I think you need to satisfy any builder that he's laying exactly what you have chosen. Since it should only take a day or two - better to have it done to your satisfaction while you are here. 'Ronnies Furniture', [near 'Ship Inn' - suggest check out their website] because they construct a lot of outdoor structures of differing types, retain a builder - he's very hardworking, honest and realiable and reasonable with his charges. Have a chat with 'Ronnies' while you're over here.

PS: I forgot to add that this builder will be able to purchase the tiles/slabs you want way cheaper than you, as a foreigner, can! Remember, you're not in UK when buying in TRNC, or anywhere else in Cyprus, for that matter!

Expect to pay about 60 quid per metre square. Thats slabs laid on dry-mix, on top of steel reinforced concrete. Anything less and you risk subsidence.

Huseyin at Tanglewood Co Ltd on 0533 8753642. His work is excellent and he is reliable and honest and his time keeping is good too. Examples of his slab laying are not far from Arapkoy for you to see.
