We have Turkcell and I regularly make calls to the South. Ensure you use the country code 00357 and then knock off the 1st zero of the mobile that you are calling. Paul

Hi, Can anybody help me please. I have a Samsung D600e and am on contract with Turkcell. I have tried putting 00357 and also 0090357 in front of a telephone number starting 976***** All I get is I have dialled a wrong number. I have double checked the telephone number is correct but I cannot get through. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lesley

As far as I am aware, text messages sent to a dark side number from TRNC do not get delivered, and vice versa.

0090 is the prefix that you would use to ring TRNC 00357 is the prefix for ROC (South Cyprus) You don't (CAN'T!) use both of them! what may have confused you, is that when you receive a call from 'abroad' on a Turkcell 'phone the caller ID displayed often precedes the actual country code with a '0090' - don't ask me why! - But I do know that it doesn't work in reverse So, use 00357, followed by the 'local number' - and leave out the first '0' if there is one in the 'local number' - if the first digit of the local number is NOT a '0' - don't worry, enter the whole number. Job done!

I rang Electroline (near Ikea) today and got through from a Turkcell Mobile... Yes you can text both ways... However, not all network service providers action texts in the same way. In the UK a text messaging centre will keep transmitting the text for a specific period of time hoping the intended recipient will come on line and get it... this is normally several days... That's why a phone that's switched off can often be bombarded with messages once switched back on. In the UK Vodafone used to be the only network that did not charge if the text did not get through... I'm not sure if this is still the case. Here for some reason texts don't always get through... I'm assuming that this is because they have a time-out limit of hours rather than days.. Even if a phone is on it can be out of range of a mast.

Hi Keithcaley, I have tried prefix 00357 to a mobile (taken off the 0) - my mobile says wrong number, my husband's says call barred! I tried 0090357 because it was given to me from a computer shop. We are both using turkcell phones! Any further help would be appreciated. Lesley
