| In the UK you can use these modems to plug into your laptop and get wireless broadband. Companies such as Vodafone, Orange and 3 charge £10 - £15 per month. Does anyone know if Turkcell or any other TRNC operator offer the same? |

| Paul90 I brought over my laptop with an O2 USB Modem and using roaming linked into the Turkcell network with no problem. before leaving the UK I purchased a £20 bolt on to allow an extra 10mb of download without excess charges. BE VERY CAREFUL!!! I left the modem connected to the computer and unknown to me even when in standby mode updates and downloads are still sent to your computer resulting in me using 94mb. I couldn't understand why after a couple of days my account was suspended after me sending only 6 E-mails and it was only when I returned home that I phoned O2 to discover my account was sitting at £519!!!! Fortunately O2 were not surprised to hear my story as this apparently happens all the time and have scrubbed all the charges but you only get one chance of claiming ignorance..So be warned!!!! Jim. |
