Tues and Thurs are the best days to go as the office is quieter (not doing Visa applications) Passport Services: 07:30 – 12:30 from Monday to Friday

Be quick - after 1st June passport renewals will be processed in Madrid. If you live in the North then the High Commission here will still accept your application but it will cost extra to courier it to Spain. If you live in the South then they will not accept your application and you must courier it to Spain yourself.

Visa applications are done in main room, there is a small second room (interview room on door) where they do passport renewals now. Did mine last week, any day will do as they give out different coloured numbered tickets depending whether its visa or passport. 28th is last day for handing in or else its Madrid at about 35 euros for courier (I asked) Mind you I dont know whether that is one way or return!! They are a bit busy with many people trying to get renewals early.

My wife and I went to the High Commission (TRNC side) last tuesday (18.05.10) for passport renewal. Arrived at 07:30, no queues, in and out in an hour. Very good service, still at EUR152.00 for each passport, it should be !! Martinev

My application for renewal went in on Thurday, and will be ready 1st week in June. The place was empty so my husband was in and out very quickly. He has no problem paying for his passport, it's free!!! He's Irish.
