I have heard that a consultant is setting up a Slimming World group. Does anyone have the details. As an ex member I would like to go along as I need to get more into the healthy eating plans that they do. Also I need advice on the foods that are available here and get some more SW quiche recipes.

If enough people want to join it may work here.

Woodspeckie, I have looked at these and even considered joining on line, but am in serious need for the discipline.

Download the recipes and form your own group, meet at each others place with a set of scales and someone to take notes and you are away, have a good natter and costs nothing.

Hi

this is a Slimming World Consultant who is going to do it on a Sunday morning as part of the market in Karsiyaka so that it can help the charity to raise money to rehouse the couple who lost their home in the flood. I have been at weight watchers 3 times and yes it worked, but when I went to Slimming world I found it far superior - Loads of food to eat, never be hungry, include drink and snacks in your plan - very healthy plan no counting calories or weighting - Just eat. Also some great recipes - yes they are on-line but that does not give you the help and support that a group and a consultant can give you. I for one will be joining if it starts up.

HildySmith - message 10.

Well, I must say that the Slimming World diet sounds just like the one women have been looking for for years!

"Loads of food to eat"

"Never be hungry"

"Includes drinks and snacks"

"No plan or calorie counting" - and last, but by no means least:

"Just eat"

This sounds like a diet made in heaven, to me

I heard that it is possibly in June, but not sure yet as she cannot get the Slimming World books over here and will have to set it up herself.

The thing about the Slimming World Plan is that it is not a diet - it is a healthy eating plan(s) which are based around what YOU like to eat and with meals that all the family can eat, so you are not eating/cooking your own meals and another for them.

When I joined a group in England in November I had just gone up to a size 20 and was 13st 5lbs. The reason I joined was my daughter was getting married in the March and I refused to buy a size 20 outfit and be photographed on my daughters wedding photos. I did not tell anyone about it, and in the March I wore a fabulous outfit which was a size 14 and I felt fabulous. I developed an underactive thyroid at 50 yrs of age and was at the end of my tether!!!

Hi Marian

Do you happen to have the original red/green book that I could possibly borrow to copy some bits out of it, I would definitely be interested if a group starts up.

Rowan

if she does it, maybe you could help out with some of your books, cos she will not get them over here and will have to use something else.

When I was over NC last week I lost 5lb due to a loss of appetite, I suspect one or all of you have found it. Can I have it back please?

Hi

I spoke to her this morning and she has received a reply from SW saying that she cannot do it under their name or using there equipment etc. I told her that as TRNC is not recognised they cannot do anything. But if rowan and her could 'do their own thing' based on their knowledge of a good healthy eating plan - where's the problem????????
