The office where you used to tax your car - down the road by the fire station - has moved! The new car tax office is in the new municipal building behind the Girne General Hospital. There is limited (depending on time of day) parking in the car park of the building. Go in the main entrance and look to your left, there is a door that leads directly into the car tax office - it is next to the door for the male toilet. Easy job of taxing, nice staff, pleasant office. A real change for the better. Good Luck.

You got me baffled. The place where we payed our car tax is/was nowhere near the fire station. We go to place - turn left just after fountain roundabout, from Lapta and on left. Please clarify?

Its moved to the Sosyal Sigorta office, which is next to the Kaymakamlik office. If you follow signs to the Kaymakamlik office is is the new building just before it.

Sorry, I presumed (never presume always check) that if you had paid your car tax before in Girne that it would have been paid at the old tax office (that has only been there for 14 months) which was down the same road as the Turkish Army fire Station. No secret information available for you I am sorry to say, just directions to the new office in case anybody has no clue at all where the Sosyal Sigorta office or the Kaymakamlik office is. I felt fairly confident that people would recognise the Girne General Hospital and be able to find there way to the new Municiple Building - after all it is new and shiny so it sticks out a bit! Will draw a map for the next move if it helps anyone. Taxed car yesterday and it was due on the 1st of June, the lady did not want to do it but as I smiled nice, was patient and polite and had a pocket full of 1 Lira coins it was allowed provided I change all my coins with her so that she had some to use with other customers! There is always a way!!!

Drive to Girne and when you come to the roundabout with the new water feature (the one that takes you to Nicosia) turn left into the town centre. Go past the Colony Hotel and at the round about turn right. Just before the State Hospital turn left and follow the winding road around. You will pass the car park for the hospital on your right and you take the next turning .right and its first right. Hope this helps.

Sorry to say it, but this board proves to be worthless for normal communication. Or the readers are really stupid. Pick your choice. I have uploaded here info with my (FREE, NO COSTS, SO: FREE) map 'where to find what' in Girne (now) 21 times! Why do you all spend time to repeat the same info time and time again? Why don't you (learn to) use the Google Search Engine on top of this page?! The info requested time and time again is here ▶ http://is.gd/f1VYS I give up - trying to help people on this board just doesn't work.

On second thought: I've taken the map off line. There are better things to spend my time.

Regards, Mrs Snakes (...) ▶ You obviously only read what you wanted to read. Why didn't you read this also: "Why don't you (learn to) use the Google Search Engine on top of this page?!" For people who know how to make a useful bookmark (or want to learn how to do it): ▶ [ http://is.gd/hV5OG ]. P.S. Information on this board has nothing to do with being 'friendly' - it has everything to do with being informative. Thank you for your reply though. Well written. |

DC. I am not one of those 'stupid' people you refer to. I read all of your 3 posts. Bof100 is new to the forum, he may not know yet how to use the forum to its full potential, there was no need to imply that the readers may be 'really stupid'. As for saying 'well written', don't take the piss out of me. Okay?

Thanks for the directions carrieRBag they are spot on. I was not aware of the importance of google search I thought it was the google search for info outside this forum. I should point out that I am also a bad speller but don't give a to.. as most intelegent people can work out what I mean. Dutchcrusader instead of TELLING me to use the search engine you could try to explaine the procedure as its relevance bypassed me, and if you feel so stromg about the information you provide and lack of understanding by other users on this sit then start your own and only allow your informed friends on/ Again thanks to everyone who have helped us out.
