I'm new to the board. I will be travelling from Istanbul to Ercan in August. What is the easiest and fastest way to get to Ayia Napa from Ercan Airport. I won't be renting a car so I am looking for alternate options. Thanks in advance for your help.

If I were you I would book a taxi in advance. It will take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, journey time. Easy road but taxis at airport tend to be expensive. Try Bellapais rent a car, they do taxi services or will recommend a reliable source 0392 815 7510. When coming back beware of south to north taxi services, they have been known to take your money and then dump you at the border!!! Have you ever been to the north before, it is far less comercialised than south and cheaper and friendlier.

Best route is from Beyarmudu/Pile,which is also very near to Ercan as well. With someone that knows where they are going (ie.Taxi) it should take no more then an hour.

It isnt just EEC. But you can get a visa, which is free apart from a few stamps at your nearest bubble cypriot consulate.

Note that the 'rump' RoC STILL say that the Green line regs apply only to EU Citizens and their official dependants...so if you are Turkish Citizen - or a not USA/ Canadian / Australian / NZ citizen , you might be stopped and turned back - as you have not 'entered' via a recognised port .. The GCs do not recognise 'Tymbou' / Ercan as a recognised point of entry .....
