We were going to share a space in somebody's van, but I'm not sure this will happen now and I want to explore alternatives. The quantity is less than 2cubic m

Somebody said Dolphin are good for fitting in last minute and drive all the way to TRNC.

I used Dolphin I moved from North Scotland and a local mover came and packed everything then drove it South and Dolphin delivered it in North Cyprus. I did not have a full container load so as I was not in a hurry for my stuff waited until they could fill up a container. Everything arrived in good condition

Re: Dolphin

We moved out in January. Dolphin were excellent and communications both in England and Cyprus were first class. They even drove me from Girne to Niccosea to get clearance through the customs office. Would thoroughl;y recommend them even for a part load.

I used Dolphin for my goods from England....they were good, but I did have to keep phoning and asking when they were going to arrive, they were about 2-3weeks late but at least everything was in good condition.

I did have to deal with alot of hassel at the Gumruk in Famagusta though

I agree with message 5

I used Dolphin when I moved from the UK although having a full shipment, it was late by 4 weeks, kept saying bad weather in the MED also lots of hassle from Customs and wanted extra money etc,

but I have to say nothing got broken in transit

But I used Jo Valentine when moved back end of January it was spot on time no breakages also the best part WAS DOOR TO DOOR no having to take it by lorry to the docks, so 3 cheers for JO

Hello Eva

We'll be loading a Groupage container on June 11th, sailing the 14th, ETA Famagusta 9th July if that's anyhelp. There's still space avaiable and we collect from all over the UK. Door to Door Service.

Please email me for an inventory sheet.

Best regards

I used Dolphin and would recomend them BUT the one bit of trouble I had was when they delivered my stuff a three piece suit was missing and one of the men made a phone call and then told me it had been found and would be delivered the next day, which it was,but they wanted £150 from me and when I asked what it was for there was a language problem and at first I understood it to be a customs charge then it was for delivery so I said I would ring Bruno ( the boss ) in England and they ( the delivery men ) told me they would sort it and left. I have never heard from them since. I believe it was a scam for more money but not by the firm.

So beware

We used Dolphin and not only were things broken but some expensive items went missing. After sales service was awful. My missing items never turned up.

We used Dolphin to move our office furniture and equipment from TRNC. What a total disaster. Our stuff was collected on August 21st but due to a string of errors they made on the paperwork, we were not allowed to take delivery the other end until mid January. We ended up spending an extra £400 in additional storage costs and for paperwork changes, which as yet Dolphin have not refunded us. The initial errors were made by their office in TRNC, further errors were made by their team in the UK.

When our goods did finally arrive, every one of our filing cabinets was damaged and numerous items were missing. We have written, emailed, telephoned, even threatened legal action, but they have done nothing to help us. We've not even had a decent apology.

If you want to be delayed, damaged and ignored then chose Dolphin. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I used Olaytrans for our personal shipment and that all worked out superbly. Can't speak of them highly enough.

We used Dolphin to take all our stuff from England to TRNC about four years ago too - no problems except they arrived about a month later than we originally were told.

Tried Dolphin, e-mailed, phoned twice, never even got a reply. Had our boxes in storage at Pickfords in U/K, they quoted for shipping through Limmasol - not a good idea. We came out here with no shipping company appointed. Went to Olaytrans spoke to Hurmus, she had space in a container leaving U/K 4 days later Olaytrans organised collections from Pickfords all sorted no problems. Olaytrans supported us at customs in LefKosa all straight forward.Goods delivered 2 days later. A really professional and efficient company.

I also used Olaytrans, to my regret. They seem to have a good reputation, but lost my stuff.

"We are very embarrassed for this situation as this has not ever happened before and I assure you we have discussed this each day with the director and tried everything to find your shipment and we will keep trying to find your shipment.

However we do believe that we will find your goods and believe that it is somewhere and don’t believe someone would want to steel the items".

Sadly, their belief was wrong.

We bought a van, stuffed it to the gills with everything for the apartment. As others have said, it went on a later ferry than first promised THAT SAID - everything in the van was still in the van - nothing broken, nothing touched - nothing unpacked - arrived exactly as we sent it. Highly recommend them.

Don't use Dolphin, I am going to trading standards over a consignment of 3 boxes and 1 suitcase. I was quoted £525 to bring them back to UK but on reading the web site it should have been £370. I took issue over this with Bruno and he said that the price for Northern Cyprus is more expensive but the website does not differentiate between North and South. They also said that £525 was a minimum charge but again I couldn't find any reference to this being the case. They let us down on the pick-up they didn't arrive so we were left with a problem as the following week was Bayram and we were leaving during this holiday period so we had to take the boxes to the estate agents next door to Dolphins office who kindly said she would pass them on for us when the holiday was over. We had no paperwork from them as I understand it was supposed to have been given to us when the goods were picked up. The delivery was late in arriving in the UK.

I would never, ever use Dolphin again so beware.

We used Olaytrans July last year and the service was excellent. Container arrived earlier than we had expected, nothing broken or missing and nothing was too much trouble for them.

We used Dolphin.

They collected our stuff in a very tall furniture lorry and they packed the cardboard boxes up to the roof of the vehicle. I could see that the bottom layer of boxes were beginning to crush. Doubtless after travelling on bumpy roads

this made it worse, because much of our stuff was damaged, with feet broken off items and large gouges in table tops, valuable fragile items were smashed. A pair of aluminium steps looked as though they had been run over by the loaded lorry. It is hard to imagine how such damage could have happened.

Naturally the goods were late and my emails and phone calls were ignored.

The insurance we managed to claim was far less than the premium we paid.

Would I used them again? Of course i would. Not.

When moving out we used Fistral Impex, absolutely brilliant. they moved our dogs too. could not fault them. Moving back to the UK we used Dolphin, we had to wait for our goods for a couple of weeks, but everything can back immaculately no damage.

Hi dippersgirl,

I would very much like to know how your move was and if you did infact decide to use Dolphin for your move.

I am now totally confused - apparently every company is both brilliant and awful?? I guess you just have to make a choice and hope the experience is a good one.
