LFC are in even bigger trouble now, it will cost them money they don't have to get rid of Benitez, more money probably to compensate for his replacement and then all change! They are doomed for at least 5 years, oh and Hodgson for me!

Newlad, Souness is the last man I would want to see back, he was the one who destroyed the Liverpool Bootroom and along with that the Liverpool Football Club Ethics that had stood us well for a long long time. I agree that there is no immediate rush for a new manager and I would like to see Martin O'Neil but I think he has just tied himself down to a new contract at Villa. If O'Neill comes then he must bring Milner! Sammy Lee will be carrying on the duties, I think the new manager is going to be a surprise choice and would not surprise me if its an Ex Player. The board have gotten rid of Rafa for a reason, this I think will bubble to the surface soon, maybe new owners have made it a pre condition, Player unrest we do not know yet! Now Rafa has gone, please get rid of, Kuyt, Ngog,Lucas,Reira,El Zhar, Keep Carra, Torres, Stevie, Agger, Aquaman,Skyrtel, and Mascherano and give youth a chance Spearing,Darby etc

Martin O'neil seems to make a success of most clubs he is involved with although I thought Benitez was a really nice bloke ! Really think its down to the players and he chose some strange line ups !!!!!

I for one am glad to see Rafa go. Liverpool should be a team who play good entertaining football, thats what the fans want and not see sunday league performances. Whoever the next manager is as long as he gets the team playing with the ball on the floor instead of this ' hoof it up the field and see if someone can get on the end of it ' way they have played all year ( with the exception of the games against Man u ) then he will get the backing of the Kop and all the other faithfull, and we can keep the filth from Manchester where they belong, and that is chasing our achievements.

I wonder how many managers at Liverpool has Fergie seen off!! Rafa, Houllier,Houllier/Jones, Jones,Souness, was Kenny Dalgliesh a manager in Fergies Time and have I missed out anyone!! Think Fergie said he has seen off 20 managers at Real Madrid so we are not that bad! Fergie will be happier as lets be honest our record aginst the Mancs was improving!!

he has been finished with liverpool for months , he garanteed 4th place , he garanteed they would win the europa league , they won nothing ,scraped into next seasons europa league , in fairness its not his fault , he was forced to sell , and had no money to buy , the owners have really destroyed LFC , they wont compete for a long time , next season will be a 2 team league MUFC because fergie has built for the future , and chelsea , because they have more cash than MUFC ,

Maybe Ang,but there are more then two games in a season.Liverpool seemed to build their season around the two games that they play in the league agains their mates from 30 miles away up the East Lancs road.Beating United ended up being the be all and end all of their season. Then when it comes to the end of the season and they look at the table they are still twenty points or so behind the most consistent club in the premier league.A league i must say that they (Liverpool) have never won, Paul.

whenever i saw Liverpool this season they seemed to be irratic in their performance and sometimes played incredible fast close passing and very lively football but was always down to Gerrard to break through a truly incredible player terribly under rated and will (i think) be our saviour in the world cup ! It annoyes me that no matter how much these manager Guru's are paid it means very little cos they all play the same players almost like a mafia run team !!!! "you will play Ferdinand, Rooney, etc " snore snore job done ! pay millions to someone who will choose the same line up as the manager 3 times before ! sorry everyone just my opinion there must be so much great talent in our teams who never get a look in !!!!!!! regards Barry

Agree with most said on last 2 posts but Im a fan and support my team .Future will tell agree with Rowlo about 2 clubs in the winning position in the league and his reasons. I think all Liverpool Fans should know that the next couple of seasons are going to be a regrouping phase but we are going to be back and I do think that Chelski will win the premiership next 3 seasons with ManU second or even third as I think there are going to be a lot of difficulties coming Old Traffords way soon as they cannot go on refinancing the massive debt as interest rates are soon about to rise! So all gloat at our not so wonderful position now but we will be through it sooner than you think!!

He bought too many sub standard overpaid players, now need to get back to basics and find players that want to play for the club instead of playing just for the big money. Only got themselves to blame for becoming a laughing stock...Torres to go soon,. maybe SG as well.....o 'neill is as good as most i guess !!

ang1706 being a nawf lundunner i have supported Tottenham for years and never expected them to acheive what they have this season however, I do believe it is down to Harry's form of management mainly due to his previous acheivements ! I am sad for Benitez and thought he was good at first but what a good salary !!!! who ever replaces him will have a tough job but with great players !

ang1706 ,if MUFC cant service theyre debt , theyres no hope of LFC servicing theyres , its gonna be a long way back , harry rednap, took spurs to 4th in 18mnths , on a shoe string ,harry is the 2nd best manager in british football ,maybe even world football ,but you gotta take your hat of to sir alex , he is the daddy , he is the most succesful manager in football history ?
