If you know about LEMAR, do you know, why I can't buy Jacobs Ground Coffee any more? I looked in one shop in Kyrenia a3 weeks ago and the had only decaffinated. Since then I looked in Magusa and Bogaz for several weeks but no filter or cafetiere coffee available, just Turkish. I do love Turkish but for breakfast I like a big cup. Nescafe is not what I ever want to drink. My Turkish builders are complaining, they like the German filter coffee too!!!!

Lemar con, 2 for the price of one, cheese. On top of the wrapped two pack, extra mature cheese but on cutting the pack apart a smaller portion underneath stating mild cheese! Then got short changed at the till to add insult to injury! Richard

Japeal Anything in a tin should certainly last for months if not years. No need to freeze them I would say. Unless of course anyone knows differently. Stock up old bean !!! Paul

fiendishpaul, Yes tins may last a while, but a tin that is 2.62kg is far to large for just 2 people the beans would go off before you got to eat them all

Msg 13, Its a fact that Lemar does have some good price reductions/promotions but I'm sick and tired of having to fight for my change at the check out. Are the staff actually getting paid? Maybe this is the only way they can make up their underpaid wages??? I now take my business elsware for piece of mind.

Times must be tough if Lemar have to come onto the forum and tout for business. Personally I think they were ripping us off with some of there prices and now that there is much more competition they are bringing their prices down which can only be good for their customers. Now all they have to do is stop their thieving cashiers from short changing the tourists. I always ask for the exact change and when they say they havent got any change I tell them they have to give me more money instead then, they soon find the change. WHen you think about it 25 kurus is the equivalent of 10p in the UK and you certainly wouldnt accept being short changed by that much in the UK so dont accept it here.

i was at the new supermarket over the mountain road towards ercan airport. was surprised to see there mince beef at 16tl a kg,of course its a little to far to travel for just a odd kg of mince, but there fruit and veg and most other products are 20 and 30% less than the supermarkets this side of the mountain. if they can do it,surely they all can do it ?

Zerochlor the shop you're commenting on is Erulku. They always have cheaper meat and we travel there to do our main food shop as the staff are always friendly and they have some good promotions on. If you can't see what you want on the shelf have a word with the manager/owner(?) and he'll see if he can either find it in store or getit in for you. Real service

Dear Friends, Just for your information, Lemar is part of the Levent Group of Companies , which is one of the oldest established companies in Cyprus.Under no circumstances is it a part of company policy to accept ' short changing'.This is absolutely unacceptable. In fact, cashiers have been strictly instructed to give more in case of having problems with sufficient change. Each cashier carries a name tag.In case of complaint we invite you do call the respective store manager immediately and present your complaint giving the name of the cashier in concern. Karakum Mr Serdal 05338700646 Mr Kamil Catalkoy Miss Deniz 05338700647 Miss Nesli Karaoglanoglu Mr Huseyin 05338700645 Mr Osman Iskele Miss Gülden 05338700649 Miss Hilmiye Additionally, please feel free to reach me anytime by mail heergil@levent.com The above quite clearly indicates how seriously we approach these forms of unacceptable practices. We are open to all views as long as it is done in good faith. Ekrem

Personally, I LOVE LEMAR and would not shop anywhere else. I have never had a problem with wrong change. The staff there work very hard, the prices are competetive, there are always plenty of trolleys/baskets, the car park is huge, there are clean toilets and a nice cafe, there is a wide range of products, , any problems are dealt with immediately and efficiently, and once again, I must mention the staff who are all extremely helpful, hard-working and professional. I will only use the other supermarkets if I don't happen to be passing my Lemar, KARAOGLANOGLU branch.

Hi Ekrem, for your information, i was in the Catelkoy branch about a year ago, and after paying and packing my goods, i left the shop and returned home to Bahceli, when i got home i realised that i had left my wallet containing not a small amount of cash, so as you can imagine i was in a bit of a state. I did'nt know the phone number for the store so just drove back and went into the store, asked one of the cashiers who called the manager over and was reunited with my wallet. So far from being thieves, i can only praise your staff for their honesty. I always shop in Lemars and always enjoy chating to the staff, it improves my Turkish. Thanks again Geoff.

Just one point I'd like to share. Yesterday I bought two TopKek which was rung up at 1.14TL. I burst out laughing and said how could I do that, it's impossible! The cashier said to just give the 1TL. Please tell me why the TopKek are priced at 57kurus!

MASSAGE 43 Yes you are absolutely right but the prices are arranged by the system mathematically so we tell all the cashiers to round down the amount on payment. Thanks Ekrem

Hi Ekrem, Congratulations on being brave enough to come on the forum and help people. Not many CEOs would do that. I always use Lamar when in TRNC and have never been short changed, always found helpful staff and very clean stores. Keep talking to us but remember you can't please all of the Richards all of the time!

Hi Ekrem, well, your post on here worked for me. I don't usually shop in Lemar as I live in Lapta. After reading this thread, my daughter and I shopped in Lemar this afternoon. The young girl on the checkout was very friendly and helpful, she also helped us pack our bags, and we were given the correct change. Keep up the good work, well done.

Hi Ekrem, Any chance of any offers/promotions on beer to celebrate the start of the World Cup ?! Beer is one of items that retailers very rarely seem to discount over here so it would be a very welcome if Lemar led the way! Thank you
