CTA flight was with Atlasjet.

Anybody know why that was as never happened before?

Chartered plane probably, due to one of CTA's being out of service. They would be limited to having to use a Turkish based airline for the charter due to the flight originating in TRNC.

Hi all,

This is what is called a 'wet lease'.

It is common practice where the regular airline has a problem covering the route. In this difficult trading period for airlines, the charter companies will take what ever business they can get.

To be honest I would just be glad I got here, does it matter which Airline carries you? the main thing is you got to your destination.

CTA do not 'sell' drinks, it's included in the part of the 'break down' ticket price where it says SERVICE! My last adventure with them there was only a choice of gin or whisky but still had the audacity to try and flog 'Duty Free's'!

Atlas-jet are more used to internal Turkey flights (dry) and the few International flights they run are predominantly to Muslim Countries (dry) or run on a Charter basis (Germany), pay as you go!

Korean Air were good, drank beer non-stop London to Brisbane without a problem. At one stage the head steward asked if I was okay, realised I was sober, and served me another beer! I don't think they had any notion of how much a Kiwi can consume!

"Excellence in Flight"? Not quite, but very good and would recommend!

Andy-f re: Your message 8 is spot on and they didn't disappoint on the changeover at Dalaman, huge improvement on CTA.

The week before on the way out with CTA, no wine or beer?????
