youtube in North cyprus .. where has it gone?

So who has blocked my access to Youtube? I can get there by using a VPN, but not through my normal Turkcell connection. And not only who, but why is it blocked?

The difference between Extend and others isd interesting. Turkey has blocked You Tube and some Google pages due to "offensive" posts on the former about Ataturk.



Does this mean that Extend don't have an IP address that is controlled by Turkey?

I wouldn't know about Extend but I do know that Nethouse get teir internet from Turkey. Maybe Extend gets theirs from the South...?

It's nothing to do with where they get their internet from. Legally every ISP in TRNC has to get their backbone connections through Turkey. The key is how TTNet in Turkey are blocking the sites. They have used a DNS block, first blocking from their own DNS servers, and now blocking also youtube resolving through openDNS and even google's own name servers. So what do users (or ISP's such as Nethouse and others) do? They change their DNS settings. Just use google to find a free dns you can use, and switch to that. Or ask your ISP to do it for you.

I cant't get you tube now, have been using it for months on Nethouse, now it's gone, I had made a play list on you tube too play at a party, can't access it now.



Any idea's, I can use a computer but don't understand all the techinical side of things.

You tube has been blocked here in Turkey for almost two years. I'm surprised that it is now only happening in The TRNC. Everybody can get around this by using a proxy server.I have one but it is in the USA and I can't remember how I got it.ı know that it's free and also gives UK Tele programes as well.

Hellfire. This is supposed to be a forum. Forums are where people chat and offer advice/assistance. I'm asking a legitimate question, so why is there no one to answer? Maybe you are all worried sick over last weeks auction. If so, think about rule one when buying here .... get your permission to buy FIRST of all ... if you ignore that one, then carry the consequences yourselves. Not sure what your problem is! As a new member you haven't spent time looking at past history posts! You can't get PTP on a specific property for at least two years and no seller will wait that long. It's given alongside the property and purchaser! And as Utube is concerned, try reading the above threads which will answer your questions with a solution. Look at DD's post and do it! I did it, and now Utube works although with some annoying 'pop-downs'!

Also many thanks for those who posted about how to recieve Youtube. One last problem ... on my own computer I cannot read any replies to the post, hence my last comment. I can read replies on a different machine. Is this general or do I have a computer problem that I haven't spotted yet?

I can't keep asking other people to use their pooters to read the replies ... why can't I see any responses on my machine? there's something wrong somewhere. On my pooter all I see is my original question, but if I log into someone elses I see all the replies. Why is this?
