After reading excellent reviews about Patina, we decided to go there for an evening meal last time we were in Cyprus (early May). They were still using the indoor dining at the time so we did not have the benefit of eating 'al fresco' which I gather is lovely. However, I have to say we were disappointed with the meal, and the service, though friendly, was not as professional as I was expecting. My meal, can't exactly recall what I ordered now, but it was a real mish-mash of flavours & textures, arranged 'artistically' in a tower on my plate with a sauce underneath & various decorations painted/placed around it on the plate. Almost like the chef was trying to be adventurous and & had thrown together all the leftovers in his fridge in the style of Ramond Blanc or something !!! Rather weird ! Sometimes, it is better to keep things simple or at least, stick to the recipe ! We heard the next table saying that the food was not the normal standard, so maybe the regular chef was away !!

We go there and can only say that the quality of the food is first class BUT the last time we went it would appear that they had over booked which meant that the quanity was very poor. One half of a roast potato, a small spoonful of carrots and greens. The roast beef melted in your mouth but did not make up for the very small dish. Did ask for more potatoes, twice, without any joy. Came away wanting to go somewhere for a meal but will give it another try.

We ate at Patina, at our neighbours recommendation, last night on the Fish Night, food and presentation was quite nice but the evening was spoiled when the bill arrived. We had been asked, at our table, if we wanted coffee and brandy. Normal Hospitality!. When the bill arrived coffee and brandy had been charged for. When we queried the the charge, the "Head Man" said we were asked if we wanted coffee and brandy, not offered!!!! The food bill was great 58TL, wine at 27TL OK, 3 raki were 21TL, bit steep but then to pay for water, coffee and brandy made it an expensive evening. God know what it would have cost on the A la Carte. Would assume minimum of 200TL for two people.

Hi how188, I am the 'Head Man' you spoke to last night at our fish night. As I explained we do offer complimentary coffee and brandy with our A' La Carte meals and this is offered to customers as 'on the house' when we take the order. As the special menus are priced at such a discounted rate it just isn't possible for us to include coffees and brandy in the price and so in line with normal restaurant service we ask if you would like coffee at the end of your meal. Therefore I apologise if there was any confusion and would like to invite you for complimentary afternoon coffees and cakes at our restaurant any day that it suits you and hope this will compensate for your disappointment.

Was at Patina for lunch today and did not realise how special it was until we got there. Lovely surroundings, great service and food. As it was a meal out to celebrate our wedding anniversary it was a brilliant find by our friends. Thank you everyone, and we will definitely return.
