Having been really busy recently (bank auctioning my house and all that) we have eaten lunch out quite a few times and thought I would let you all know about a couple of great lunches.

Paparas, Karaoglanoglu - Husband had a pizza and I had calamari, chips and salad. The pizza was lovely. Very thin base, nice and crispy underneath with plenty of very tasty topping. The calamari was freshly cooked, crispy coating but nice and soft (if you know what I mean), proper chips and nicely dressed mixed salad. Basket of home-made bread which was delicious. To follow we had the best Cappuccino I have ever had on this Island. Lovely thick froth with delicious coffee that you could actually taste in a very big cup for 5TL. Including an Efes and a cherry juice total bill was less than 50TL.

Today we had lunch at:

The Cabin Beach Bar, Lapta - I had a tuna salad bowl which was beautifully presented with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, red cabbage, corn and lots of tuna for 8TL. Husband had Menemen which is onions, tomatoes and peppers fried and then mixed with egg. This is served with tomato, cucumber and black olives for 7TL. We had a basket of fresh bread, one Efes and a cherry juice. Total bill 22TL which is excellent value for money.

Do give them both a try as they are well worth a visit.

joandjelly, glad you are posting re your great lunches, I was wondering how you both were after your horrible day. My heart went out to you and all of the people in the same position as yourself. Big hug to you both...

The Cabin we have been to each time we are over and have always had wonderful service and the food the same.. Looking forward to trying the beach bar, as the setting looks great....

Thanks dizzy. It feels like we have been on a roller-coaster for the last couple of weeks with good news, bad news, good news, bad news continuously (today was no exception). We are trying to hold it together but it is physically exhausting. We have had fantastic support from everyone which has been a huge help. Fingers crossed there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
