| How safe are the roads for cyclists in North Cyprus and what are the trails and back roads like especially in the mountains. Does anybody know any interesting routes and do you think it would be possible to cycle all along the coast. |

| Hi Dobbo, Don't know much about this subject but Rough Guide to Cyprus states: Cypriot car drivers tend to regard cyclists as some lower form of life - on a par with the snakes found deliberately run over everywhere - and can be very aggressive, so pedal defensively. However it also states that the Kyrenia hills are laced with a network of dirt forest tracks which although tedious to hike would constitute a mountain bikers dream. It also suggests that recently group bike tours have began to be advertised that cover the mountain ranges from end to end. Apparantly the CTO (? Cyprus Tourist Office) publishes a useful A4 format pamphlet "Cyprus for Cycling" which details 19 back-country routes for cyclists.Unfortunately the book does not state if these are in North or South. Good Luck |
