I have a friend who is recovering from a very bad hip fracture from last year. Doctor has reccomended swimming as good excersise. Trouble is, she needs a pool that she can walk in & out of if possible. Does anyone know of such a pool (west of Girne if poss). Maggie

Msg 2 Thanks for that Alan! I presume you mean the med? already suggested that she tries the sea but she's still very unsteady on her feet and thinks the waves may knock her over. This is quite an elderly lady who had a really bad fall resulting in a horrific fracture. Was hoping to find a pool (with public access of course) that has a very shallow 'kiddy end' that my friend could get in & out of easily. Maggie

The best bet is to contact Maddie - 0542-8500511. She lives in Lapta and is a highly qualified and experienced nurse specialising in treating stroke patients, orthopaedic problems and such like. She does medical massage and exercise programmes - including water based ones - as well as giving all kinds of really good advice. I have several friends who have had treatment from her and can't recommend highly enough.
