KTHY flights from Birmingham to Ercan

Can anyone advise about flights out from Birmingham on Mondays? Has anyone had any problems? We are due to fly out in a couple of weeks and this is the first time we've flown with KTHY from Brum, usually flying with Turkish Airlines from Manchester. Just hope we haven't made a huge mistake!!!

Over the last 2 years I've used the route 4 times.

On one occassion we were 1 hour late taking off from Birmingham, but only 20 minutes late into Ercan.

The 3 other occassions passed without incident with departure and arrival bang on schedule.

On last trip we arrived 15 minutes early into Ercan.

The 4 return trips departed on time and arrived into Birmingham either on time or a few minutes early. Your return trip is only delayed if the Stansted Red Eye on Sunday is running late.

I am aware though that others have had nightmare trips and, no doubt, they will raise them on here.

Our experience last year (Sept) from B'ham-Ercan & return was pretty ghastly. 2-hour delay before flying out and no info as to the causes. Mandatory touch-down of some 45 minutes at Dalaman before reaching Cyprus. Reached our resort in Kyrenia nearly 3 hours later than scheduled. Return departure time from ERC was 0500 (which meant being at airport by 0300). In the event we were again delayed and didn't actually take off till 0.700. Arrival in UK subsequently delayed by 2 hours.

Unlikely we'll use CTA again to get to N.Cyprus.
