Dear friends, We can't let public money be used for more oil spills and climate destruction. G20 leaders are stalling on promises to end their multi-billion dollar subsidies for dirty energy like oil and coal. The leaders' next meeting is on June 26 -- sign the petition demanding they stop fossil fuel handouts, and then forward widely: Around the world, more than half a trillion dollars of our tax money is spent promoting fossil fuels... every year! It sounds crazy, but it's true. That's all tax payers money -- public funds that could be used to fight climate change, but instead is used to cause it. But something's happening. Ever since the horrific BP oil spill, the world is waking up. As the oil devastation spreads, a realization is spreading as well: it is time to end our addiction to fossil fuels. Forever.

Cont'd: And now a chance is approaching. The leaders of the 20 most powerful economies -- the G20 -- will meet next week in Canada. Last autumn, they pledged to end fossil fuel subsidies... but they've taken no action. They haven't even set a deadline. Let's hold the G20 leaders to their word -- flooding them with petition signatures to stop spending our money on oil, coal, and other fuels of climate destruction: http://www.avaaz.org/en/g20_end_polluting_payouts/?vl Fossil fuel subsidies, like fossil fuels, are a dirty business. Governments give tax breaks to oil companies. Oil companies buy off governments. We all pay the price. It's a scandal!

Good posting. I have been listening to Clown Obama this week blaming BP for everything. Well which greedy, oil guzzling nation needed to have the well done in the first place. It is people and governments that are to blame, especially those in USA for pulling the ladder up years ago and doing whatever they want with oil. Far too late now for the planet some of them have woken up!!
